ASCO Valve is the world’s leading manufacturer of solenoid valves. The company is innovative, creative, & is the state-of-the-art leader for the control of fluids, combining over 100 years of experience with high technology. ASCO products are designed to control the flow of air, water, gas, oil and steam. The ASCO RedHat brand offers the world’s largest selection of 2-way, 3-way, and 4-way solenoid valves, that are designed to handle the most demanding fluid control applications.
ASCO provides valve products and valve systems to a number of different industries such as nuclear power, medical and analytical instrumentation, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, packaging, and automative, petroleum and chemical, and food and beverage. Besides the valve products that made ASCO so popular, they also distribute other useful products and accessories.
ASCO Product Lines;
The FRL product line refers to the company’s filters, regulators and lubricators. Filters are usually used in the removal of contaminants, oil, impurities, and other moisturizing elements from instrument air lines, thus prolonging the life of the system’s components that could have been directly affected.
The regulator is a component that allows the independent control of fluid pressures. By applying a regulator, you can remove pressure fluctuations in your HVAC system. ASCO regulators can be used in air or water systems and they can contain an attached pressure gauge.
Lubricators are used to atomize oil into the aerosol form of any compressed air line, in order to be injected to the air stream. The pneumatic lubricator processes the air to extend the life of valves, motors, cylinders or other components in the air conditioning system. By lubricating your HVAC system, you will reduce repair costs and you will create the necessary environment for your component to work at full speed and 100% capability.
They also provide two interesting combined systems; filter/regulators or filter/regulators/lubricators. The first is a factory assembled unit allowing air filtration in a single component. They can be purchased with both automatic or semi-automatic configurations and are available with 5 – 30 um filters. The filter/regulator/lubricator combination is also a pre-assembled unit controlling pressure, air filtration and air lubrication. By offering lubrication too this combination differs from the first one. It provides an extended life span for pneumatic components and basically all other components in your HVAC system that could have been affected.
The manifolds are also well sought-after components. The manifolds hold the solenoid valves and can be purchase separately or with a valve component. The Series 451 manifold for example, has the following features: they are constructed out of anodized aluminum (which protects them from severe corrosions and contaminants), their valve threading system is extremely easy to use, cutting assembly times to a third, the manifolds feature 10-32 ports that easily connect with metal or plastic fittings.
The producer's miniature electrical connectors are designed with industry interchangeability in mind and they are also perfectly compatible with solenoid valve coils. They can hold user wiring or factory wired installations. Their housing and lid is made out of glass fiber reinforced polyamide. Other features include IP65 protection against moisture and wash-down and a maximum voltage power of 240 volts. There are two models of miniature electrical connectors: LED (Light Emitting Diode) and VDR (which is a coil protector absorbing self-inductance of the coil).
Strainers and flow controls are also popular choices from the ASCO product list. The strainer assures proper flow and prevents valve damage and additional harming of other equipment. Flow controls are spring loaded discs that adjust flow in one direction and allow free flow in the other. Both accessories are useful to commercial and industrial HVAC systems and are a good addition.
The Slip-Lok accessory is used for attaching conduits and instruments to your system. The installation is very easy, even in cramped or hazardous spaces. The component slips into any location and locks components into an optimal position. The stainless steel structure of the Slip-Lok is corrosion resistant and functions in temperatures as low as -20°F and as high as 180°F.
