Copeland Semi-Hermetic Compressors

Copeland Discus Delivers Best In Class Performance

Copeland Discus™ compressors have been the unquestioned leader in commercial refrigeration for over 25 years. Combining world class efficiency and reliability, Discus™ is the compressor of choice to meet your refrigeration needs. The unique Discus valve design provides improved efficiency at operating conditions where most semi-hermetic compressors run. Grueling life testing and 25 years of field experience make Discus compressors the most reliable compressor in the industry.

Continued Technology Leadership On The Discus Platform

Emerson Climate Technologies engineers have continued to develop new and exciting technologies to leverage the established Discus platform. One example stems from the challenge end users have always faced with the ability to match compressor capacity to the load requirements of the refrigerated space. Copeland Discus Digital™ compressors were designed to specifically meet that challenge. With the ability to modulate infinitely between 10-100% of rated capacity, Discus Digital™ compressors match the system load requirements precisely while consuming less energy and increasing the life of compressor and other system components.

Protect Your Investment with Copeland Discus Compressors

End users want cold and they want it reliably. Even the most robust industry leading compressors, such as Discus, can fail or not function properly under adverse conditions, like poor installations. Facing this challenge, Emerson Climate Technologies engineers have developed innovative technologies via compressor electronics to increase compressor reliability and life. All new Discus compressors are shipped with CoreSense™ technology onboard. Through innovative and proprietary algorithms the compressor is used as a sensor to protect and diagnose the compressor. When adverse conditions exist, CoreSense technology can proactively shut down the compressor to prevent future damage until the condition is no longer present, enabling longer compressor life and sustained product integrity while protecting the refrigeration investment.

Discus with CoreSense Protection

Copeland Discus™  semi-hermetic compressors have, for years, been the choice and the standard in the refrigeration industry.

Efficiency
The Copeland Discus compressor with CoreSense™ Protection saves energy – and money. Why? Because it’s the most energy-efficient compressor available for your refrigeration needs. In fact, Discus™ compressors have led the industry in energy efficiency for decades, delivering up to 12.2% more energy efficiency than any reed compressor technology. And our Discus valve technology is designed to meet a broad range of application requirements.

Reliability
Copeland Discus compressors with CoreSense Protection are also built to last, saving you even more money in maintenance and service calls. Engineered for high quality and outstanding reliability, each Discus model passes a grueling series of performance and durability tests. Rigorous testing, combined with more than 25 years of field experience, makes reliability a hallmark of Discus compressor technology.

Discus Digital with CoreSense Technology

In refrigeration applications, the quality of the end-product is maintained by precisely controlling the temperature. However, the traditional technology requires compressor cycling and can lead to problems, including uneven cooling and reduced compressor life. That is why Emerson Climate Technologies developed the Copeland Discus Digital™ compressor.

With the Copeland Discus Digital  compressor with CoreSense™ technology, there is no compression taking place during the modulation off cycle; it allows the motor to move the crankshaft without any thermodynamic work, which in turn reduces power consumption up to 10%.

Small Semi-Hermetic

1/4 to 15 HP semi-hermetic reciprocating compressors provide premium alternatives for systems requiring full temperature range performance including low temperature evaporating conditions to -40°F. The most popular selling Copeland™ brand semi-hermetic compressor is the K model.

The Copeland K-Body has a long-standing reputation for having the ability to reliably maintain lower temperatures inside freezers ensuring superior food quality for ice-cream and other frozen foods. We created the Copeland K semi-hermetic compressor to save you money in every corner of your operations. We designed the compressor's pistons for increased cooling capacity and installed an energy efficient motor that saves electricity. Then we put in durable bearings for longer freezer life and allowed the Copeland K to run at lower operating speeds to reduce both sound and vibration. The result: a compressor that helps you save energy, cut operating expenses and reduce service calls and maintenance costs.

Discus with CoreSense Diagnostics

Copeland Discus™  compressors have long set the standard for reliability.  With the introduction of the Copeland Discus compressor with CoreSense™ Diagnostics, the benefits are even greater.  The integrated electronics package enables a simpler refrigeration supermarket rack, reduces maintenance costs, and helps guide facility management decisions.

With the Intelligent Store™ architecture, Emerson Climate Technologies now offers the industry's most innovative approach to providing you a single view into your entire network of facilities. For the first time, you will be able to understand your costs for maintenance and with our help, you will be able to make decisions about where and when to spend your resources to ensure that they make the greatest impact.
